Pamela Storey Johnson studied at Chester College followed by a BA degree course at Kingston Upon Thames University. She went on to a three year career in book publishing where she illustrated childrens' fiction and also provided imagery for school books.
Storey Johnson has also had a colourful career working with Jim Henson (best known for the 'Muppet Show') and the BBC. CCA's publication of her work brings to a wider audience the magic of Pamela's prints whose jewel like colours and quirky humour are undeniably rooted in her past as a childrens' illustrator.
Inspiration for her works have come from her own childhood and the phrases learnt from her Mother; 'Every dog has its day' 'Handsome is as handsome does', and 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'.
