Graham Evernden was born in 1947 in Kent. He studied at Maidstone College of Art and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (first class honours) in 1970.
He worked in London as a graphic designer and his illustrations were accepted for several Design Annuals in this country and abroad including Design and Art Direction and European Illustration.
He won Gold and Silver Awards for illustration from the Designers and Art Directors Association and a Gold Award from the New York Art Directors.
In 1974 he decided to leave London and become a freelance artist concentrating on illustrating and printmaking. He exhibits throughout the country and also in the United States, Canada and Germany.
In 1975 he was elected a member of the Printmakers Council and his work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. He still illustrates but most of his time is spent drawing and producing new etchings. Evernden is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
