Born in Lancashire in 1956, Peter Eastham completed a BA course in graphics and illustration at the Bath Academy of Art. After graduating he worked as a freelance illustrator for a number of companies before taking up printmaking full time.
He found the best way to develop his craft was to work in a printmaking 'atelier' - which not only enabled him to refine his technique but gave him the time and facilities to experiment with landscapes, interiors and still life for his etchings and lithographs.Eastham also works occasionally as a portrait artist.
He has exhibited widely in the UK and overseas and his work is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Brooklyn Museum, ITT, IBM, Royal Exchange, Kidder, Peabody, Sears, Roebuck, Amoco, Marks and Spencer, Dean Witter and John Lewis.
